Preservation of environmentally sensitive areas was paramount in the planning of Renwick. The layout of the development keeps land-disturbing activities to a minimum, while sensitive areas have been set aside for preservation.

In an unprecedented conservation initiative by a Bloomington developer, all conservation and tree protection areas have been deeded over to a not-for-profit organization, The Renwick Neighborhood Association, Inc. The purpose of this organization is to oversee, manage, and nurture the areas of Renwick set aside for conservation, forever preserving and protecting the scenic beauty of Renwick.

The result is a development with both old-growth and new natural features which will enhance the quality of life for Renwick residents.
