Southeast Park Expansion
southeast park donation

Immediately adjacent to the west of Renwick lies Southeast Park, managed by the Bloomington Parks Department. The large wooded ravine that runs through Renwick east to west has been donated to the Bloomington Parks Foundation for an expansion of Southeast Park.

The donation enlarges Southeast Park by 7.3 acres, an 82% increase. Included in the donation is the construction of an 8'-wide multi-use trail linking Southeast Park to Sare Road and the Renwick Village Center. Spend an afternoon playing or relaxing in the park, then enjoy a leisurely walk through beautifully wooded scenery to the Village Center for ice cream, a refreshing drink, or the day’s newspaper.

The trail will also pass by the restored Spring House, an historic structure dating back to the 1800s when Renwick was used as a farm by the Smith/Cathcart families.
